It's really amazing to see how far the internet has evolved over the years. Wikipedia especially, has become the ultimate source for anything encyclopedia. The most updated, comprehensive and intellectual resource in our current digital age, Wikipedia.com has left a profound impact on our internet culture as well as for many years to come. In regards to the video game industry specifically, Wikipedia has become a comprehensive source, consisting of many portals for The hidden wiki game statistics, news, information and history. In fact, some of the most detailed information regarding some video games to date can be found within Wikipedia's website.

Many popular game titles and franchises have provoked enough interest for the creation of their own Wiki portals. Games like World of Warcraft, Diablo, Final Fantasy, Halo, Starcraft, Fallout, Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto have warranted enough respect, support and fans for the creation of their own informational sites, consisting of thousands and thousands of pages. It's truly interesting to see the level of details available on these sites. From the Hit-Points (HP) of every demon and foe in Final Fantasy, to the casting power of every spell in Diablo, to the biological history of every creature in Halo and Starcraft, Wikipedia currently provides the most adamant source of information for video game history and knowledge.

We understand where many of Wikipedia's downfalls may lie. For the main part the information is user contributed, and user edited. We understand that due to its non-profit status, it can become impossible and extremely difficult to maintain the integrity of its' site. However, there are several processes put in place to protect the integrity of the site. Checks and balances occur to observe the activity on each site. As with any element of our lives and culture, we must also count on the people to make the right and helpful choices, to maintain the integrity of our internet and culture. For the most part, most journalists and even scientists have begun to grow respect for Wikipedia's power as a resource. We read an interesting article almost a year ago, depicting that several scientists began using Wikipedia.com for medical and health references. Is this legal? Is this really being observed? One thing we can know for sure is that Wikipedia.com allows for cultural sharing, and very up-to-date information among cultures and the people within.

In getting back to gaming, it's just utterly amazing the wealth of information you can find when you Wikipedia game information. From Grand Theft Auto, to Diablo, you will be unloaded with sleuths of information and links, from the game manufactures to the politicians bashing the games, to the video game characters themselves; And these are only the game information pages. When we look over at the portals, the abundance of information for some games is truly absurd. Wikipedia.com has served has an ultimate source for information research, gaming walk-throughs and even codes. We know there are hundreds of gaming sites out there trying to provide the same level of information, but it's just not possible. Wikipedia is also a non-profit organization and website, and doesn't make money by running ads on their sites as do all other gaming and informational sites. In this troubled economy it has been harder for sites like Wikipedia to survive. Their costs may be minimal, but they still need to payroll employees, pay for their corporate expenses and such. Please see the following note from Jimmy Wales, the Wikipedia founder, and please donate and pledge some money or support if you use their site. Wikipedia has not only become a focal point for gaming information, but for the general knowledge and information of humanity.
